Our leather comes from the first layer of hide—the highest quality and most robust leather. This ensures not only exceptional durability but also a natural suppleness . While many manufacturers rely on cheaper leather layers, we consciously select the best for our products. In an Italian family-run factory now in its third generation, each individual piece is carefully handcrafted .
Care
To ensure you enjoy our high-quality leather products for a long time, we recommend the following care:
- Store the collar and leash in a well-ventilated, dry place—preferably hanging. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Leather is a natural material. If it gets wet, please let it dry slowly at room temperature – never on a heater or in the sun.
- Occasionally use a special leather care product or colorless leather grease to keep the material supple and protect it from drying out.
- Remove dirt with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh detergents or soaps.
- Please do not wash in the washing machine – this would damage the leather.
- Salt water can dry out the leather and make it brittle – after contact, it is best to rinse it with clean water and allow it to dry thoroughly.

Please note that improper use—for example, due to excessive pulling, incorrect handling, or when used with dogs that are not on a leash—may pose a risk of injury to your dog . Each of our products is uniquely handcrafted from high-quality natural leather. Before shipping, every collar and leash undergoes a thorough quality control check . However, we ask that you check the product yourself before first use – especially for the tightness of the fittings, seams, and fasteners.

Wie finde ich die richtige Größe & Breite für mein Hundehalsband?

Miss den Halsumfang an der Stelle, wo das Halsband sitzt. Eng anliegend aber ohne Zug. Addiere 1–2 cm Spiel. Diese Zahl ist dann das im mittleren Loch später.

Zur Breite: schlanke Hälse vertragen schmalere Bänder (leichter, beweglicher), kräftige Hunde fühlen sich mit etwas mehr Auflagefläche oft wohler, das verteilt Druck ruhiger.

Was bedeutet vegetabil gegerbtes Leder?

Vegetabil gegerbtes Leder wird mit pflanzlichen Gerbstoffen verarbeitet. Nicht mit Chromsalzen. Das erhält die natürliche Faserstruktur, macht das Material atmungsaktiv und lässt mit der Nutzung eine Patina entstehen. Warum dunkelt Leder nach (was ist eine Patina)?

Leder nimmt Licht, Hautfette und Pflege auf – dadurch wird es weicher und etwas dunkler. Das ist kein Mangel, sondern Teil der Patina. Wer den Ton ruhiger halten möchte, lässt nass gewordene Partien langsam trocknen, pflegt dünn und gleichmäßig und vermeidet direkte Heizkörperwärme. Sind eure Beschläge nickelfrei?

Unsere Beschläge bestehen aus ZAMAK oder massivem Messing. Beide gelten als hautverträglich und korrosionsarm. Wir verzichten auf billige, stark nickelfreisetzende Beschichtungen. Mehr zu ZAMAK und Messing in unserem Blog.

Woran erkenne ich, dass ein Halsband ausgetauscht werden muss?

Wechsle, wenn eines der folgenden Zeichen auftritt:

im Leder, besonders an Lochungen/umschlagenden Partien
Löcher, ausgefranste Kanten, weiche „Bruchstellen“
oder ausgerissene Flechtstränge
Beschläge, Spiel im D-Ring
starker Geruch oder Schimmelspuren

Sicherheit geht vor Stil: Lieber rechtzeitig ersetzen oder reparieren (wir beraten gern), als Materialermüdung zu riskieren.

Sind Lederprodukte für starke Zieher geeignet?

Ja! Sofern Materialstärke, Nahtbild und Beschläge hochwertig sind. Ein breiteres Soft Komfort Halsband reduziert Punktdruck, stabile Schnalle/D-Ring halten Lastspitzen aus. Unsere Beschläge werden vor Fertigung im Prüflabor auf Qualität und Verlässlichkeit geprüft. Prüfe dennoch regelmäßig Nähte, Lochungen und Kanten.

Wie wasserfest ist ein Hundehalsband aus Leder bei Regen und Bad?

Alltag und Regen steckt Leder gut weg, sofern es danach lufttrocknet.

Dauerhafte Durchnässung (Bäche, See) lässt es ausfetten und aufrauen. Beim Vollgeflochtenen vergrößert das Geflecht die Kantenfläche: Trockne gründlich, damit keine Feuchte im Inneren bleibt.
